Parents Right To Know

Parents/Guardians in Saluda County Schools have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher:  state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree.

You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a schoolwide Title I program. Parents/Guardians may request this information from the District’s Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Harvey Livingston, by calling 864-445-8441 or by mail, 404 North Wise Road, Saluda, SC  29138.

Saluda County Schools ensures that parents will be notified in writing if their child has been assigned, or has been taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not considered highly qualified.

En el Distrito Escolar del Condado de Saluda, los Padres/Representantes tienen derecho a saber la siguiente información sobre el maestro que instruye a su hijo: losrequisitos para obtener la certificación como maestro para el nivel de grado y para las materias que enseña; el estatus actual de certificación que tiene el maestro de su hijo; y el título que ostenta, sea licenciatura, maestría o doctorado.

Usted también puede solicitar el nivel de los para-profesionales que atienden a su hijo en los programas de Title I, o si la escuela a la que asiste opera bajo un sistema general de Title  I. Los Padres/Representantes pueden pedir esta información a la oficina del Superintendente llamando al teléfono 864-445-8441 o por carta al, 404 North Wise Road, Saluda, SC 29138.

El Distrito Escolar del Condado de Saluda asegura a los padres que se les notificará por escrito si su hijo ha sido asignado, o si por durante cuatro semanas consecutivas o por más tiempo ha recibido instrucción de un maestro que no se considere altamente calificado.
